We finally got Ellie home. We have been lucky because she sleeps a lot and doesn't fuss that often. This is one of many pictures of Ellie sleeping.
When Ellie was born, she weighed 5 lbs 5oz. In the week after her birth, her weight dropped to 4 lbs 13 oz. She was so tiny. This photo of her in her bouncy chair shows how tiny she was.
Because of her size, newborn clothes were even big on Ellie. The only clothes that fit her well were doll clothes. This was a dress for the cabbage patch doll I had when I was little.
Ellie looked so tiny in Greg's hands.
And next to Greg's shoe (granted Greg does have large feet).
Last photo to show how small Ellie was. These are newborn diapers; however they went up to Ellie's chest. It took a couple of months before these diapers fit.
Ellie fast asleep in the blanket my friend Heather gave her.
When Ellie was born, she had jaundice. You can see she looks slightly yellow (her nose) in this photo. We used a UV blanket at home for the first week, however, it really didn't work. Four days after coming home, Ellie had to go back to the hospital for more UV therapy. It was only one night. Greg didn't mind it - he called it the Mercy B&B - a chance to watch TV without any household chores.
Ellie went back into the hospital on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. That Saturday, Grandma and Grandpa Bradley came to visit. Here they are holding their two granddaughters, Ellie and Clara.
